Common Questions

Where can I find prices?
Check out our Creative Fees for simple, flat-rate prices and services.  For more details, visit this link for a printable 2018 price menu.

Do your prices include the disc?
Newborn and Milestones sessions are priced to include the full set of high-resolution digital files. We stopped offering discs of images in 2014 when we moved to USB storage.  And now, due to the advances in technology, we will begin offering items as a download-only option.  This will allow us to serve you more quickly and pass on the cost savings without the product and labor of utilizing flash drives while also allowing you to choose your favorite method of photo storage, share your items on social media, and transfer them between devices.

Is there a catch?
Nope! For our Newborn and Milestones sessions, it really is as simple as “one price, one service.”  You will never pay more than these published prices unless you choose to.  You are more than welcome to make additional purchases from your online gallery, but it is not a requirement of your session.

Do I get the copyright to my photos?
We own the copyright to all of our session images, website content, and artistic license.  However, any digital files you purchase will be accompanied by a print release with liberal terms that allows you to utilize your photos in any private, non-commercial capacity.

Can I do a mini session for my newborn?
While all newborn sessions are the same in terms of the amount of time invested in creating beautiful imagery, you may be interested in commissioning the studio for just a session service, then purchasing individual files from your online gallery as a la carte items.  This is a more affordable alternative to the Complete Newborn session if you require only one or two images from your gallery for use on a birth announcement or keepsake.

Can I include my child/spouse/props?
We always have options to include your whole family. We will discuss more during a short phone consultation about what to expect and how to prepare.  Special items with sentimental value are an important part of what makes your images unique!  Some things photograph better than others, so we will talk about those items prior to the session.

Our Pet Policy:
We are not pet photography service, so we must first have a comprehensive discussion about a dog’s breed, age, temperament, and training.  No matter how calm and loving your pup is, bringing a brand new child into the home or taking them to a foreign location with a strange person (me) can be stressful, and their reactions cannot be anticipated.  Over my 11+ years in business, I have been bitten, tripped, chased, climbed on, and knocked over.  For my safety, and yours, we must have a candid conversation and set realistic expectations.  All dogs must be leashed or crated when not being photographed and vaccinations must be current.  We do not photograph cats, birds, exotics, or any other species except canine (and occasionally equine).

Where are you located?  Do you come to my home?  Can we go outdoors?
Studio Ainsley does not have a retail studio location for indoor shots.  We shuttered our space in Richmond in late 2014, and work strictly on location, either in your home or outdoors. Travel fees may be assessed for locations outside Fort Bend or Harris Counties.

How do I book?  What does it cost?
Retainers vary and fees paid are applied to your whole balance, with the exception of an Artist Commission fee of $275, which is only for a session and preparation of images for order.  For further details, conditions, and terms, please send us an inquiry and we will send you all the details you need to know!

We happily accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.
